Ride the Rakaia – 100km

A great opener to this 100km with a controlled rolling start over the Rakaia River Bridge on the main highway before racing gets underway on beautiful country roads abounded by the scenic mountain and flowing Rakaia Gorge. The fun really starts about 50km in when you get to conquer the Cat 3 Rakaia Gorge Climb; and then **hopefully** catch the roaring NW tail wind and fly down the road back into Rakaia.
